About
This is a small, doctor-led practice rather than a hospital department. Its lead doctor is an associate professor of reproductive medicine with, by the clinic's account, more than three decades in the field and a master's in reproductive sciences from Monash University. The clinic also credits him with Thailand's first successful ICSI (1996) and, before that, northern Thailand's first GIFT procedure (1989).
Treatment runs from an initial infertility consultation and gynaecological examination through to IUI, IVF and ICSI. The package page sets out three IUI prices, depending on whether medication is taken by mouth, injected or a mix of both, and a single all-in IVF/ICSI price; embryos are frozen and put back in a later cycle.
Several limits are stated plainly. The clinic does not freeze eggs or sperm and does not scan without a medical reason, and, citing Thai law, single women and same-sex couples are not accepted for treatment. The website is written only in Thai and does not describe any arrangements for patients travelling from abroad.
IVF and Fertility Clinics
Apichart IVF quotes one all-in figure for a cycle of IVF or ICSI: THB 200,000. That sum covers stimulation drugs with no cap on the number of days, monitoring scans, egg collection under anaesthesia, the laboratory work, freezing of every embryo, storage of up to ten embryos for the first year, and up to two transfers carried out back to back.
Further frozen transfers from embryos already in storage cost THB 30,000 each, and medication to support a pregnancy after a positive test is charged on top. IUI is also offered, at THB 6,000, 9,000 or 12,000 depending on whether tablets, injections or both are used.
Patients are seen by the specialist who runs the practice, on Huay Kaew Road near Kad Suan Kaew. Married couples living in or near Chiang Mai who can attend during the short afternoon opening window are the likeliest fit; single women and same-sex couples are not accepted.
