Key points

  • You can choose between a fertility centre inside a large hospital and a clinic devoted only to fertility care; each suits different people.
  • Before anything else, check you qualify: Thailand's 2015 law currently allows treatment only for legally married couples.
  • Ask every clinic for a written, line-by-line quote, since one package may leave out what another includes.
  • If you are flying in, find out early how many days you need in Bangkok and which scans your doctor at home can do.

How we built this page for you

Everything here comes from what each clinic says about IVF and fertility clinics in Bangkok on its own website; if we could not trace a claim to a source, we left it out. The order is not a judgement of quality, and no clinic paid to be included. These are the points we looked for:

  • Published IVF and ICSI services
  • Embryology lab details

IVF and fertility clinics in Bangkok, at a glance

01

Bumrungrad International Hospital

Bangkok Private tertiary hospital

An IVF cycle at Bumrungrad takes four to six weeks, according to the hospital. Before reaching IVF, patients may be treated with medication, hysteroscopy or laparoscopy, or IUI; IVF and ICSI then use either day-3 or blastocyst transfer. The clinic names its doctors, each listed in both reproductive medicine and obstetrics and gynaecology, within a team of more than 20.

The laboratory options published are EmbryoScope time-lapse monitoring, MACS for choosing sperm, and two forms of embryo genetic testing: PGT-A using NGS, and PGT-M, which looks for single-gene disorders like thalassaemia. Couples can also have carrier screening before pregnancy with a medical genetics specialist.

The clinic opens seven days a week, and a round-the-clock contact centre, online enquiry forms and teleconsultation make it possible to start the conversation from abroad. Prices for IVF are not published.

  • Day-3 or blastocyst transfer
  • EmbryoScope time-lapse imaging
  • PGT-A by NGS and PGT-M
  • Pre-pregnancy carrier screening
  • Remote consultations available

Bangkok Hospital (Headquarters)

Bangkok Private tertiary hospital

Couples starting out here are assessed first, and treatment follows the cause that is found: ovulation drugs, keyhole or robotic-assisted surgery for problems such as endometriosis, chocolate cysts or pelvic adhesions, or IUI. IVF and ICSI come next when those are not suitable, with embryos grown to the blastocyst stage.

On the laboratory side, the centre points to an embryology lab of its own built to cleanroom standards and a dedicated male laboratory where sperm is analysed and selected. Genetic testing of embryos is sold as a PGT-A package at 96,000 baht, which also covers freezing two embryos; the test is carried out when the doctor advises it.

There is no published price for a complete IVF cycle, so budgeting means asking for a quote. The team can be contacted by phone, email or LINE (@BHQFertility). It is a reasonable fit for couples who would like reproductive surgery and IVF available within one private hospital.

Samitivej Sukhumvit Hospital

Bangkok Private tertiary hospital

Samitivej's Fertility Center may appeal to patients who want techniques beyond standard IVF. Alongside IUI, IVF and ICSI with blastocyst culture, it offers in vitro maturation (IVM), with a cAMP-modulator version as well, an approach that avoids hormone stimulation for women such as those with PCOS; the hospital says it first offered IVM in Thailand. Other listed options are calcium ionophore after poor fertilisation with ICSI, uterine receptivity testing, mitochondrial DNA testing, and PGD or PGS by array CGH or NGS.

A newer embryology laboratory sits in the hospital's Critical Care Complex. Samitivej says it has treated patients from more than 38 countries, and runs a second centre on the 4th floor of Samitivej Srinakarin, open 08:00–17:00 every day.

Long opening hours, every day of the week, make early-morning or evening monitoring scans possible. Package details sit on a separate page that did not load when checked.

Phyathai 2 Hospital

Bangkok Private hospital

The fertility centre on the 10th floor of Building B opens every day and keeps its embryo culture lab and an operating room on site. If tests show a problem, its doctors can treat it laparoscopically before a cycle begins. Treatments listed are insemination, IVF and ICSI with embryos grown to blastocyst, and chromosome screening of embryos by NGS or array CGH.

Phyathai 2 says the centre has Joint Commission International Clinical Care Program Certification, and it aims part of its service at expatriates in English, including a second-chance programme for those whose IUI, IVF or ICSI elsewhere has not worked, and it can be contacted on LINE and WeChat as well as by phone.

Prices for IVF are not published. The centre may suit people living in north-central Bangkok, or anyone wanting a new assessment after earlier cycles failed.

Superior A.R.T.

Bangkok Specialist fertility clinic

Eligibility is the first thing to check here: the FAQ says IVF is only for heterosexual couples who are married and can show certified proof, and surrogacy is not arranged. For couples who qualify, the pathway is built around ICSI, with embryos grown to blastocyst on day 5–6 and tested by NGS-based PGT across all 24 chromosomes. On quality, it cites ESHRE clinical embryologist certification, ISO 9001:2015, and the laboratory standards ISO 15189:2022 and ISO 15190:2020.

Couples from abroad typically make two trips: a stay of 3–4 days for egg collection when the stimulation scans are done at home, or as long as 15 days if stimulation begins in Bangkok, then a shorter visit for transfer. Paid phone consultations, Mandarin-speaking staff and a visa support letter are available.

The FAQ prices its all-inclusive ICSI with PGT-A package at THB 495,000; the promotion page shows THB 498,000, with embryo testing, freezing and twelve months' storage of as many as eight embryos included.

  • Published fixed-price ICSI with PGT-A
  • Embryo screening across all 24 chromosomes
  • Two trips for patients abroad
  • ISO 15189 and ISO 15190 laboratories
  • Visa support letter

Worth confirming: Two package prices are published (THB 495,000 in the FAQ, THB 498,000 on the promotion page) and endometrial preparation is not included; confirm the current figure and whether the marriage rule applies to you.

Jetanin Institute for Assisted Reproduction

Bangkok Specialist fertility hospital

For couples who want the lab work under one roof, Jetanin keeps its embryology, genetics and andrology in separate in-house laboratories and has two staff witness every step. IVF and ICSI are standard, with IMSI for severe male-factor cases, blastocyst culture, EmbryoScope time-lapse imaging and MACS sperm selection. Genetic testing runs on NGS and covers PGT-A, PGT-M and PGT-SR; a PGT-M case begins with a review, genetic counselling and saliva samples from both parents.

The hospital dates its JCI accreditation to 2017 and RTAC to 2018, lists ISO 15189 for lab processes, and says its embryologists hold ATE, TSRM and ESHRE certification. Each year the genetics lab joins UK and European external quality schemes.

International patients are directed to a coordinator on WhatsApp and told of a dedicated package, though no figures appear online.

  • Accredited by JCI (2017) and RTAC (2018)
  • Separate embryo, genetics and sperm laboratories
  • PGT-A, PGT-M and PGT-SR by NGS
  • Two-person witnessing of lab steps
  • Consultation offered free of charge

Worth confirming: Neither prices nor eligibility criteria are online; get the international package in writing with its exclusions, and check which marriage papers you will be asked for.

SAFE Fertility Group (Gaysorn Amarin)

Bangkok Specialist fertility clinic group

For an overseas couple, the practical draw at SAFE's Gaysorn Amarin clinic is the support. Each international patient gets a named, multilingual assistant for translation, reminders, documents and WhatsApp messages, and the team prepares visa paperwork. The group's guide is 10–14 days in Bangkok split over two visits, and early scans can be done at home.

Stimulation lasts roughly 8–10 days of hormone injections, with monitoring two or three times, before eggs are collected under general anaesthesia. Laboratory options include EmbryoScope Plus time-lapse incubation, PGTseq-A chromosome testing (NGS with SNP), MACS and IMSI for sperm selection, and TESE/PESA. Acupuncture and ovarian rejuvenation are offered as extras. The group reports RTAC accreditation, an ISO 9001:2015 mark, ESHRE-certified embryologists and cryostorage watched around the clock.

The ICSI brochure covers four monitoring visits, medication, anaesthesia for collection, laser-assisted hatching alongside ICSI, a single EmbryoScope slide, and up to three embryos frozen. It does not state a price.

  • Named assistant for each overseas patient
  • About 10–14 days in Bangkok over two trips
  • EmbryoScope Plus and PGTseq-A testing
  • RTAC accreditation reported
  • Support in five languages besides Thai

Worth confirming: Eligibility is not set out on the IVF pages; check which marriage and ID documents Thai law needs from you, and ask for today's package price and its exclusions.

Beyond IVF

Bangkok Specialist fertility clinic

Beyond IVF sets out its prices before the first appointment, though all of them are starting figures. A pre-IVF health check costs from 4,900 baht, from 5,900 baht with thalassaemia screening added, or from 8,900 baht with hormone tests as well. ICSI is priced from 175,000 baht as a package; freezing and thawing embryos and chromosome testing are not included and would be added to the bill.

Treatment options include ovulation induction, IUI, IVF and ICSI, with laboratory add-ons available as extras. Beyond standard IVF the clinic covers donor treatment, surrogacy information and a pathway for LGBTQIA+ patients, and it works in partnership with Fertility Associates, founded in New Zealand in 1987.

The single permanent clinic is on Rama 2 Road in Chom Thong. A free nurse consultation is available for newcomers. The site does not name a laboratory accreditation or describe a service for patients travelling from abroad.

First Fertility PGS Center

Bangkok Specialist fertility clinic

If screening embryos before transfer is high on your list, this clinic builds its IVF offer around exactly that. Cycles use IVF or ICSI with PGS, and PGD is also named. Found on the 13th floor of PS Tower, close to Asoke, the clinic covers the wider work-up too: fertility check-ups for women and men, semen analysis, sperm washing, TESE, TESA or PESA when sperm must be retrieved surgically, hysteroscopy, IUI and embryo transfer.

You can see who leads the clinic, since the medical and laboratory directors are named, but there is little published about lab accreditation or equipment. Couples coming from abroad are assigned a personal assistant and supported by staff who speak several languages, and there is a Chinese version of the website.

The packages page describes an all-inclusive arrangement but leaves out prices, so plan to request a full breakdown before you travel.

  • Embryo chromosome screening (PGS) built into IVF/ICSI
  • Personal assistant for patients from abroad
  • Medical and lab directors named
  • Website in Thai and Chinese

Worth confirming: Two different phone numbers appear on the site and there are no prices; check which number is current, ask exactly what 'all-inclusive' covers, and confirm you are eligible under Thai law.

Jintabutr Fertility Center

Bangkok Specialist fertility clinic

If knowing the price before you start matters to you, Jintabutr publishes it. A foreign patient pays THB 150,000 per cycle, split into three payments: THB 70,000 when the cycle begins, a further THB 60,000 when the eggs are collected, and the last THB 20,000 when the embryo goes back. Included are stimulation drugs (a maximum of 2,400 units), the doctors' fees, every scan and blood test during the cycle, the egg collection itself, ICSI, culture to blastocyst, the transfer, and a fortnight of pregnancy-support medication afterwards.

The clinic is in Bang Phlat on Bangkok's Thonburi side, on the 7th floor of Thanalongkorn Tower. Its founders came from medical schools and its doctors trained in Australia and the UK. Beyond the package it offers PGT-A, TESE and frozen embryo transfer.

Opening hours run every day of the week, though the website is Thai-only, so arranging an interpreter may be part of your planning.

Praram 9 Hospital

Bangkok Private hospital

Many couples arrive at a fertility clinic without a clear diagnosis, and Praram 9's IVF Center is set up to find one first. Both partners are assessed, using semen analysis, vaginal ultrasound, hormone tests and, if needed, diagnostic laparoscopy. Where a fibroid, polyp, adhesion or endometriotic cyst is found, the hospital can treat it surgically before moving on to assisted conception.

From there the published options are IUI, then IVF or ICSI ending in embryo transfer, with preimplantation genetic screening (PGS) and assisted hatching available as additions. The centre names four physicians, and an initial discussion by video is possible through the hospital's Praram 9 V service.

Plan your questions in advance: the page does not give clinic hours, prices or any egg-freezing option. It is a reasonable fit if you live on the eastern side of Bangkok and would prefer diagnosis, surgery and IVF to sit within the same hospital.

  • Tests for both partners before treatment
  • Surgery for fibroids, polyps and cysts on site
  • Embryo screening (PGS) and assisted hatching
  • First consultation by video

Before you choose

Weighing up IVF and fertility clinics in Bangkok

If you are planning IVF in Thailand, you are really weighing up three things at once: the doctors who will guide your cycle, the embryology lab that will look after your eggs and embryos, and the paperwork that decides whether you can be treated at all. Prices and pregnancy figures are the first things most people compare, yet they are also where clinics differ widely in what they include and how they count.

We have arranged this guide in roughly the order you will meet each decision, starting with whether Thai law lets you be treated and ending with what happens to any frozen embryos once you fly home. Your own plan should come from a fertility specialist who has seen your results.

First, check you can be treated

Before comparing clinics, confirm you qualify. In its current form, Thailand's Protection of Children Born from Assisted Reproductive Technologies Act B.E. 2558 (2015) allows treatment only for legally married couples. It also prohibits commercial surrogacy and any buying or selling of eggs and sperm, and every surrogacy arrangement needs a committee's approval.

Change may be coming. The Department of Health Service Support began consulting the public on a revised bill in July 2026. According to reports, the draft would open treatment to same-sex spouses, in line with the marriage equality law passed in 2024, let some foreign married couples use surrogacy, and allow eggs, sperm and embryos to be exported once a committee approves. Until it is passed, the existing Act applies, so ask each clinic in writing which rules it will follow on your start date and which documents it wants, such as your marriage certificate and a translation.

Planning the trip around your cycle

An IVF cycle takes several weeks from the first injection to embryo transfer, and if all embryos are frozen first, the transfer becomes a second visit. Ask early which baseline tests and monitoring scans a clinic will accept from a doctor at home, and exactly how many days you need to be in Thailand for each stage.

Keep copies of every result and report as you go. The UK regulator, the HFEA, points out that your home regulator has no power over a clinic abroad, so find out before you pay how the clinic deals with complaints.

What happens behind the lab door

You will spend little time in the embryology lab, but your eggs and embryos spend days there. Ask who heads the embryology team, roughly how many cycles the lab runs a year, and what double-checks it uses so that samples cannot be confused.

Some labs carry outside accreditation, for example RTAC certification (a scheme run in Australia and New Zealand) or the ISO 15189 standard that applies to medical labs. Where a clinic quotes one, request the current certificate and confirm it names the IVF lab rather than another part of the hospital.

Find out whether the lab freezes by vitrification, a rapid method, or by slow cooling, and what share of embryos survive thawing there. If you are offered time-lapse incubation, the HFEA's current rating is that it makes no difference to the chance of having a baby.

Hospital unit or dedicated fertility clinic

In Thailand you can be treated in a fertility unit within a general hospital or at a clinic that does nothing but fertility care. A hospital unit has emergency, anaesthesia and maternity teams in the same building, which can help if you have another medical condition or develop ovarian hyperstimulation and need admission. A dedicated clinic can mean seeing the same small team throughout.

One is not automatically better than the other. What counts is knowing who you will see at each appointment, who carries out egg collection and transfer, where you would go if you became unwell, and how to reach someone at night.

Making sense of the numbers

Before you set one clinic's rate against another's, find out three things: whether it measures positive tests, scan-confirmed pregnancies or live births; whether the base is each cycle begun, each collection or each transfer; and which age band it describes.

Regulators advise care here. The US CDC warns that clinic-to-clinic comparisons may not be meaningful because patients and methods differ. The HFEA suggests treating published rates as a rough guide, not a forecast, and reading the multiple birth rate next to them. Ask your specialist about your own likely chances instead of relying on a clinic average.

One embryo or two

Carrying twins or triplets raises the risks for the pregnancy and for the babies, which is why ESHRE's guideline leans towards transferring one embryo at a time. The HFEA says single embryo transfer is standard for most UK patients, though practice in other countries varies.

Ask what the clinic normally advises for patients of your age, whether that advice can be given to you in writing, and what proportion of its births are multiples.

Reading a quote line by line

Because packages leave out different steps, a low headline figure can end up costing more. Request a written breakdown based on your own test results, then line the clinics up item by item.

Read the conditions as well: whether the package is restricted by nationality or residence, when it expires, what you get back if the cycle stops early or no embryo can be transferred, and whether insurance can be used alongside it.

Be cautious with extras. PGT-A, which screens embryos for chromosome problems, is often promoted as raising success rates, yet for most patients the HFEA rates it red on raising the odds of a baby, and green for lowering the risk of miscarriage. The HFEA expects clinics to show you the evidence behind anything they offer.

  • Consultations and tests before treatment
  • Stimulation drugs, including any extra doses beyond the package
  • Scans and blood tests during monitoring
  • Egg collection, the anaesthetic and ICSI
  • Embryo culture, time-lapse and PGT-A
  • Freezing, yearly storage and each frozen embryo transfer

Frozen embryos after you go home

If embryos are stored, read the storage contract before treatment begins: what it costs each year, how the clinic will remind you, and what it will do if it cannot reach you or payments stop.

Taking embryos or eggs out of Thailand is controlled, and the 2026 draft would require committee approval for export. Ask what the current requirements are, who organises the shipping, and whether a clinic in your own country is legally able to accept them.

Questions worth asking the clinic

  1. Under the law as it stands today, do we qualify for treatment, and what paperwork will you need?
  2. Which scans and tests can I have done at home, and how many days must I spend in Thailand for each stage?
  3. Will one doctor follow my whole cycle, and who carries out collection and transfer?
  4. Who heads the embryology lab, and which outside accreditation covers that lab specifically?
  5. Is freezing done by vitrification, and what share of embryos survive thawing in your lab?
  6. For my age band, what are your live birth figures per cycle started and per transfer, and from which years?
  7. How many embryos do you usually advise transferring for someone my age, and what proportion of your births are twins or more?
  8. Could you give me a written breakdown of every cost, from drugs and monitoring to storage and a frozen transfer?
  9. Which extras are you suggesting for me, and what is the evidence for each?
  10. If my cycle is stopped or there is no embryo to transfer, what do I get back?
  11. What does storage cost each year, and what happens to my embryos if you lose touch with me?
  12. What would it take to send frozen embryos to a clinic in my home country?

Things to be wary of

  • A success rate quoted on its own, with no years, no age band and nothing to say what it counts.
  • Talk of guaranteed results, or a personal success estimate before anyone has reviewed your tests.
  • Being nudged towards transferring two or more embryos, or no clear answer on the clinic's usual policy.
  • A package figure the clinic will not break down on paper, or hazy replies about extra charges.
  • Extras such as genetic screening treated as standard without any explanation of the evidence for you.
  • Uncertainty about whether Thai law permits your treatment, or suggestions for getting round it.

Questions people ask

We are not Thai. Can we still have IVF in Bangkok?

Yes, if you meet the same conditions as Thai couples. The Protection of Children Born from Assisted Reproductive Technologies Act B.E. 2558 (2015) currently allows treatment only for legally married couples, so you will usually be asked for your passports and marriage certificate, sometimes with a certified translation. Ask the clinic for its document list well before you book flights, as getting papers certified at home can take weeks.

Is a hospital fertility centre safer than a standalone clinic?

Not in itself. A hospital centre has emergency, anaesthesia and maternity teams close by, which may reassure you if you have another health condition or are at risk of ovarian hyperstimulation. A dedicated clinic can mean getting to know one small team. Whichever you lean towards, ask who you will see at each visit and who you can call at night.

How many trips to Bangkok should we plan for?

Often one or two. Clinics' own estimates vary, from a single stay of a few weeks to two shorter visits when embryos are frozen and transferred in a later cycle. Build in some flexibility, because egg collection can shift by a day or two depending on how your body responds.

A clinic is recommending genetic testing of our embryos. Do we need it?

That is a conversation to have with your fertility specialist. It may help to know that the UK regulator, the HFEA, rates PGT-A red for raising the chance of a baby for most patients, and green for lowering the risk of miscarriage. Ask the clinic what evidence supports it in your situation and what it adds to the cost.

Will the law change soon?

Possibly, but nothing is certain yet. In July 2026 the Department of Health Service Support opened consultation on a revised bill which, as Nation Thailand reported, would open treatment to married same-sex couples. Until it passes, the 2015 Act applies, so please be wary of anyone offering services based on the draft.
